Hamia does not sell your personal information, and we do not use the conversations businesses have with their customers on Hamia for advertising.
This Privacy Policy explains how Hamia LLC ("Hamia," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use hamia.io and our products, including Hamia Business Model, Hamia Studio, Hamia Manager, Hamia Education Model, Hamia Apps Model, Hamia API, and Hamia Pay (together, the "Services").
Hamia LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA, is responsible for your personal information under this policy. In some countries, our affiliated companies help us process payments; they handle your information only as described here.
Information you give us.
Information collected automatically. When you use the Services, we collect device and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and actions taken, partly through cookies and similar technologies (see section 12).
Information from others. When a business uses Hamia to talk to its customers, we receive the messages and contact details those customers send through the channels the business connects (see section 6). We may also receive information from payment providers and from platforms you choose to connect to Hamia.
We use personal information to:
Many of our Services use artificial intelligence, for example to answer a business's customers, create content, read text aloud, generate media, tutor students, and review teacher applications. To provide these features, we send the information needed for a specific request to AI service providers who process it on our behalf. We send only what the feature needs, not your whole account.
We do not use your content or your customers' conversations to train our own AI models. AI can make mistakes, so important information from an AI feature should be checked.
When a business uses Hamia to communicate with its own customers, the business decides what is collected and how it is used, and Hamia processes those conversations on the business's behalf. The business remains responsible for its own privacy practices and for having the right to share its customers' information with us. If you are a customer of a business that uses Hamia, please contact that business about your information; we will help them respond.
A business can choose to make some of its information public so customers can find it through search engines and AI assistants. This is always the business's own separate choice and can be turned off at any time.
Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK GDPR, U.S. state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, and Nigeria's Data Protection Act, you may have the right to:
You can update your account information and delete your account in your account settings. To make any other request, email privacy@hamia.io. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will not treat you differently for using these rights. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. You can delete your account in your account settings. Some information may be kept after that where we need it to meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce our agreements. You can ask us to delete any remaining information at privacy@hamia.io. Conversations a business has with its customers are kept according to that business's settings and instructions.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your sign-in details private and contact us right away if you believe your account has been compromised.
Hamia operates globally, so your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we protect these transfers with appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Our Services other than Hamia Education Model are not intended for anyone under 18.
Hamia Education Model may be used by students who are minors, with these protections, consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and the GDPR:
If you believe a child has given us personal information without the required consent, contact us at privacy@hamia.io and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will tell you by email or with a notice on hamia.io before they take effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
